Mr. Rishi Pahwa serves as the Joint Managing Director of Avon Cycles Limited, where he has been an integral part of the team since 1999. Through his leadership, Avon Cycles has emerged as a prominent force in the industry. Mr. Pahwa holds the distinction of being the Immediate Past Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Ludhiana Zone and currently holds the position of Vice President at the Ludhiana Management Association.
A visionary in the business realm, Mr. Pahwa has propelled Avon’s legacy to the forefront of the Indian Bicycle Industry. His dynamic personal extends beyond the boardroom, as he finds fulfillment in the thrill of sports, the wisdom of culinary literature and the enrichment of travel. This multifaceted approach has shaped him into a well – roundedindividual driven by passion and curiosity.
Under Mr. Pahwa’s guidance, Avon Cycles has expanded its global presence, establishing itself as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for leading European brands and penetrating markets in South America and Europe. Domestically, Avon Cycles has risen to become the second-largest bicycle brand in India.
Mr. Pahwa’s vision transcends traditional boundaries, leading Avon into new ventures such as Wind Power, Solar Energy and Electric Mobility. The introduction of electric scooters and rickshaws under the brand name E World of Avon in 2007 marked a significant step towards sustainable transportation solutions. Additionally, Avon Fitness Machines was launched in 2015, offering a diverse range of products for both individual and commercial gyms.
Strategically located on the G.T. Road in Ludhiana, India, Avon Cycles operates its primary manufacturing unit, with additional facilities in Hajipur, Bihar and Neelon, near Ludhiana. The inauguration of the Avon Newage Cycles Private Limited plant signifies the company’s commitment to innovation, with a focus on manufacturing aluminum and steel frames for mid – premium and high – end cycles.
Beyond business endeavors, Avon Cycles is deeply invested in social responsibility, operating two charitable hospitals in Ludhiana to provide free healthcare to the economically disadvantaged.
Looking ahead, Avon plans to expand its footprint with Avon Square stores, offering a comprehensive range of products under one roof. As a brand, Avon embodies a lifestyle of adventure, sustainability and holistic mobility solutions, solidifying its position as a leader in the cycling industry.
On 23rd March, 2024, Shri Rishi Pahwa was elected as Vice President of AICMA for 2024 – 26 tenure.
